What RTF Journal does

Everything below ships in the app today. Nothing aspirational.

Echo and Amplify

Write an entry and the app answers in two parts. The Echo validates what you're feeling and quotes your own words back, so you know it actually read you. The Amplify offers one new way to look at it, grounded in the work of thinkers like Brene Brown, Viktor Frankl, and Carol Dweck. No generic empathy. No "thank you for sharing."

RTF Journal AI reflection: an Echo that mirrors the writer's words and an Amplify that offers a new perspective.

One photograph per entry

The app distills each entry into an emotional fingerprint, then generates a single cinematic photograph from it on FLUX 1.1 Pro Ultra. Your entry about a hard goodbye won't show a hard goodbye. It will show how one felt.

RTF Journal gallery: a grid of cinematic photographs generated from journal entries.

Growth tracking

Each entry is scored across five dimensions: emotional regulation, cognitive flexibility, self-awareness, resilience, and meaning-making. Scores read as plain bands, Emerging through Flourishing, with the number kept as quiet detail. Tap anything to see what it measures and where the score comes from.

RTF Journal Growth Insights dashboard: a narrative growth story and scored growth dimensions.

Shared journals

Create a journal with someone. Invite by QR code or link. Set who can read and who can write. Entries from both of you get reflections and images, and reactions are built for witnessing, not liking: witnessed, resonates, new perspective, in action.

RTF Journal journal-visibility options: Only Me, Semi-public, and Public.

Growth insights

Every 30 days of writing becomes a narrative: your current stage, the patterns that help you, the ones that hold you back, and breakthrough moments referenced by date and topic. Each journal keeps its own insights.

Voice journaling

Talk instead of type. Your recording is transcribed into a regular entry and analyzed the same way.

Calendar and gallery

A calendar of your entries with mood trends, and a gallery of every photograph your journal has produced.

Crisis resources

Real resources including the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, surfaced when writing suggests they could help. Always free, never behind the subscription.

RTF Journal requires iOS 17 or later.
